Byron founded and scaled Zonda People, later Zonda Group, in healthcare recruitment — a sector where margin is thin, staffing is volatile and reputation is the only durable asset. In 2022 the business appeared at number 13 on the AFR Fast 100.
The same year he was named Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Professional Services by Business News Australia, and returned as a finalist in 2023. The business collected Sourcr Awards for Best Healthcare Recruitment Agency in Queensland in both 2022 and 2023, Best Healthcare Recruiter across NSW and Queensland in 2022, and the APAC Vinny Award for Best Temp Agency in 2022.
