Private advisory / Construction and trades

Project margin should not depend on your next site visit.

For established contractors where a full job book still leaves the founder chasing costs, approving variations and solving every site decision.

Your team reviews weekly
Project gross margin, cost to complete, approved variations, claims and crew capacity.

Project margin review

A management framework, not a forecast.

Byron founded, operated and sold Clear Flow Ducting, a trades and services business. That is operating experience, not a claim that he has run your type of contracting business.

The operating work

Put the constraint into a management rhythm

See margin before handover

Compare estimate, committed costs and cost to complete by project. Give job costing an owner and a review rhythm.

Give foremen decision authority

Write limits for purchasing, variations and escalation so crews can act without every question returning to you.

Control the work you accept

Test tender selection, labour allowances, cash timing and project capacity against the work already committed.

Fit and expectations

A proven business. A founder ready to delegate.

Generally AUD $2m–$20m annual revenue, a founder or authorised decision-maker, and a team able to act on decisions and run the weekly scorecard.

Below that range, start with the diagnostic or discuss a separately scoped engagement through the deeper application. No alternative fee is assumed.

We deliberately work with a limited number of established founders so every engagement receives direct attention and a serious operating review. Entry is by fit, not first-come-first-served.

Between the conversations

The session ends.
The work doesn’t.

Your leadership team runs the weekly scorecard. Priorities, decisions and commitments stay visible in the Bettr Operating Room, ready for the next dedicated monthly session.

Delivery framework

The first 30, 60 and 90 days

A working sequence agreed around your business, not a guarantee of financial outcomes or a promise to finish every system in 90 days.

  1. Days 1–30

    Establish the baseline

Use the dedicated session to identify the main constraint, agree priorities and assign scorecard owners. Put the starting numbers and decisions in the Operating Room.

  2. Days 31–60

    Your team runs the week

The leadership team updates and reviews its scorecard, implements agreed actions and records issues, owners and due dates. Digital Operating Room support keeps the engagement’s working record together; it is not unlimited direct access to Byron.

  3. Days 61–90

    Review the work, then reset

Use the monthly sessions and client-run quarterly review to examine progress, outstanding decisions and priorities for the next quarter. A facilitated full-day private strategy session is not included in the core fee.

Questions

Before the strategy call

What is included in USD $5,000 per month?

The six pillars installed as a working management system: annual direction, quarterly priorities, a weekly client-run scorecard and one dedicated 1:1 session with Byron roughly every four weeks, plus digital support in The Bettr Operating Room.

Will you replace our job management software?

Not by default. We work on ownership, cost visibility and the review rhythm around your existing systems. Engineering, safety, licensing and legal advice stay with qualified specialists.

Is the strategy call a commitment?

No. It is a fit conversation about the business, constraint and scope. Any engagement requires separately agreed written terms. Saving an enquiry is not a completed calendar booking.

Do you guarantee results or include a quarterly private day?

No guaranteed outcomes. The core scope includes one dedicated session roughly every four weeks, not weekly private sessions or a quarterly full-day strategy day. Other advisory programs are separately quoted.
